What exactly is a high-conflict spouse?
A high-conflict spouse exhibits many negative emotions with no control They quickly become angry and hostile at the smallest things that most people would simply brush off or say “oh well…no big deal.”
A key character trait of a high-conflict spouse is that they do not take responsibility for their actions or their life. It’s always a person’s fault about any situation or issue.
A high-conflict spouse shows extreme behavior from intense anger and out-of-control yelling to totally ignoring other people.
You most likely know whether you are dealing with a high-conflict spouse.
You know that you are dealing with a very intense person. You probably often feel you have to walk on eggshells around this person to avoid their verbal and personal attacks and abuse.
When a spouse decides to leave a high-conflict spouse, then they could face some real problems.
First, your high-conflict spouse will blame you for the end of the relationship or marriage. Inevitably, a high-conflict spouse will not take any responsibility for their own behavior and actions.
